Legacy Totems on display at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City
From April through September, my sculptural work was featured on the iconic Decorative Arts floor at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City, through my representation with Todd Merrill Studio.
This placement marks an exciting chapter in the continued evolution of my practice, bringing my work into conversation with exceptional contemporary art, design, and craftsmanship.
There is something particularly wonderful about seeing work that began in my studio in the mountains of Colorado find its place on Fifth Avenue. So much of being an artist is spent in the quiet, intimate relationship between yourself, the material, and the ideas you are trying to bring into form. We spend countless hours making decisions, experimenting, refining, and trusting the direction of our work.
And then there are these moments when that work enters the world in a new way.
Seeing my sculptures at Bergdorf Goodman brought a different kind of excitement—one that I could feel settle into my body. A moment to really take in the distance traveled, not just geographically, but through years of dedication to this practice. To witness something I have worked toward become tangible is its own kind of magic.
I'm deeply grateful to Todd Merrill Studio for their continued representation and for the care they bring to placing my work, and to the collectors and supporters who have helped make this continued growth possible.
I'm proud of where this work is going, and excited for all that is still unfolding.
